Have fun. Get the blueprint.
This November, experience Albania through the lens of everyday life, cultural depth, and the slower rhythm of late autumn in the Balkans.
Over the course of the journey, we move from the energy of Tirana into the café culture and historic streets of Shkodër, through riverside village life, vineyard countryside traditions, mountain strongholds, medieval bazaars, and UNESCO-protected cultural centers, experiencing not just what Albania looks like, but how different lifestyles across the country actually feel to live inside of.
This is not a rushed sightseeing tour or a surface-level vacation experience. It’s an immersive exploration designed for people who want to better understand the emotional, practical, and social realities of building a life abroad before making a major life decision.
While Albania serves as the setting, the deeper purpose of the experience is to help you begin building your personal blueprint for life abroad anywhere in Europe. Throughout the journey, we explore the universal realities of international living through real-world experiences: navigating transportation systems, exploring rental properties, discussing healthcare and residency logistics, understanding regional lifestyle differences, and experiencing how community, pace of life, infrastructure, and culture shift from city to city.
But the immersion extends far beyond logistics.
In Shkodër, evenings unfold slowly through restaurant hopping, local wine, shared plates, conversation, and the vibrant social culture of the Pedonalja. In Bahçallëk, we explore the contrast between city infrastructure and quieter riverside living. At Kantina Mani, we experience Northern Albanian vineyard culture through local vintages, traditional cuisine, and countryside hospitality. In Krujë, medieval stone streets, mountain air, historic bazaars, and panoramic fortress views create a completely different perspective on daily life and identity in the region.
November transforms the atmosphere of the experience in its own unique way. The pace softens. Cafés become warmer gathering spaces. The mountain towns feel quieter and more intimate. Conversations stretch longer over coffee and wine while the landscapes shift into deep autumn colors across the valleys and countryside.
Throughout the journey, you begin to notice the difference between simply visiting a country… and imagining what it would feel like to truly belong within it.
Whether you are seriously considering a move abroad, exploring future possibilities for your life, searching for a different pace and environment, or simply craving a more meaningful style of travel, this immersion is designed to help you experience life abroad beyond the tourist lens.
This is your opportunity to test the rhythm, experience the lifestyle firsthand, and begin building clarity around what your own version of life abroad could look and feel like.
Research fatigue ends here.
Live it for 8–11 days. Clarity often starts within the first few days.

Basics
We spend time in neighborhoods where locals actually live, so you see how daily life really works — groceries, pharmacies, transportation, errands, and the little frustrations that come with living somewhere new.
Immersion
You’ll step into real-life situations that come with living abroad — navigating bureaucracy, banks, contracts and rentals, setting up utilities, understanding healthcare basics, and everyday systems like shopping and appointments, with support from hosts and local experts
Conversations
We talk openly about the parts most people don’t post online — loneliness, bureaucracy, language barriers, cultural differences, and what happens when paradise feels imperfect.
Clarity
You’ll do it with a small group of other Americans who are exploring different ways of living and spending time abroad, and by the end you’ll understand what version of that lifestyle actually feels right for you.

Day 2 – Monday: Navigating the Rhythm of a New City
Morning: The "Basics of Life Abroad" Walk. We spend the morning decoding how a city actually functions. We’ll learn the layout of the streets, where locals go, and how to master public transportation abroad. This isn't just about Tirana; it's about gaining the confidence to navigate any foreign transit system with ease.
Afternoon: Discussion on Immigrating to Albania & Beyond. An expert-led session on the practicalities of international relocation. We’ll cover the universal steps of moving to Albania and other countries, focusing on the legal and lifestyle shifts required to build a life abroad.
6:30 PM: Official Welcome Dinner at Tiku & Mato. We officially kick off the journey in Grand Park. Enjoy a serene setting with mountain views as you connect with a group of like-minded people who are on this path with you.
Day 3 – Tuesday: Real Estate & Life Logistics
The Market Audit (Real Estate Logistics): We tour actual rental properties to teach you how to look past the furniture. You’ll learn the universal logistics of foreign real estate: how to vet a landlord, understanding "all-inclusive" vs. base rent, the reality of security deposits abroad, and what to look for in a local lease to protect yourself. We’ll show you how to assess a neighborhood’s infrastructure so you know if a "great deal" is actually a livable location.
Afternoon: Vital Knowledge—Healthcare & Utilities:
Healthcare: We’ll discuss how healthcare systems function, navigating private vs. public insurance, and how to find specialists in a new country.
Utilities & Logistics: We’ll demystify the "boring" but vital parts of life—how to set up and pay for electricity, water, and trash services in a place where the systems (and the bills) look completely different. You’ll learn the workflow for managing a household abroad so you aren't caught off guard by local requirements.
Evening: Traditional Albanian Night Show: A night of folk dance, music, and a traditional feast. After a day of heavy logistics, this is where you experience the warmth of the culture you’re planning to join.
Day 4 – Wednesday: Journey to the City of Bicycles (Shkodër)
Morning Journey: Depart Tirana for the scenic drive north. We’ll watch the landscape shift from the bustling capital to the sprawling plains and wetlands of the north.
Settling In: Check into your boutique stay in the heart of Shkodër. Get acquainted with the "City of Bicycles," where the pace of life slows down significantly.
Late Afternoon / Early Evening: Shkodër Food Crawl & Social Dining Experience. We’ll spend the evening restaurant and bar hopping through Shkodër’s famous Pedonalja, sampling local flavors the way locals do—slowly, socially, and across multiple stops. As a group, we’ll share plates, try regional specialties, and take turns ordering food and drinks at different venues throughout the evening. Along the way, you’ll also get a feel for Northern Albanian social culture, neighborhood energy, and the rhythm of everyday life after hours. This experience is less about formal dining and more about exploring the city through conversation, atmosphere, and shared discovery.
Optional activity: food and drinks are pay-as-you-go and are not included in tour packages.
Time Permitting – Sunset at Rozafa Castle: If timing allows, we may visit Rozafa Castle in the evening to take in panoramic views of the city, lake, and surrounding rivers. This optional experience offers beautiful geographical context for understanding the layout and residential pockets of the region.
Day 5 – Thursday: The Bahçallëk Day Trip (Village Life)
A Full Day Exploration: A dedicated trip to the village of Bahçallëk, located just where the river meets the city’s edge.
The Lesson in Contrast: This is your chance to compare the three main lifestyle options: Big City (Tirana), Small Town (Shkodër), and Village Life (Bahçallëk).
The Blueprint Step: We’ll look at the differences in infrastructure, community feel, and "quietness." We’ll explore the riverside lifestyle to see if a more rural, nature-focused setting provides the resources you need to sustain your life abroad.
Evening: Time to relax, explore independently, or enjoy the evening at your own pace.
Day 6 – Friday: Your Day, Your Pace (Free Day)
The "Resident" Simulation: No scheduled activities. This is your day to test-drive Shkodër as a resident. Explore the local markets, find your favorite workstation at a café, or simply relax. Use this time to see how the city feels when you aren't on a schedule. It’s the ultimate test of "The Blueprint" in a real-world setting.
Day 7 – Saturday: Vineyards & Northern Traditions
Morning: Expert-guided historical tour. Shkodër is the soul of Albanian culture. We’ll explore the diverse religious and cultural landmarks that live side-by-side, from the Great Mosque to the Cathedral, giving you a sense of the community's deep-rooted tolerance and history.

Day 9 – Monday: Perspective from the Peak
The Combined Excursion: We join a single, comprehensive historic tour that covers Krujë Castle, the Old Bazaar, and the ascent to Sarisalltik. We’ll walk the medieval wooden shops of the Bazaar to see how traditional craftsmanship survives today, studying how to navigate a town that is both a historic treasure and a living community. The tour continues to the very peak of the mountain to visit Sarisalltik, the Bektashi holy site.

This was the perfect week — a mix of fun activities and real introduction to local life abroad. I’ve traveled before, but I still learned so much. The group was amazing, and it gave me the confidence to actually make the move.

Joanna D., 56
Moved to Pescara, Italy

I spent 18 months watching YouTube videos and reading expat blogs. In 10 days in Albania, I learned more about what moving abroad actually feels like than all of that combined. I booked my flight to Portugal 2 months later.

Sarah M., 52
Moved to Porto, Portugal

Everything Hanna says on her lives about Albania is exactly how it is in real life. Absolutely incredible. I came with my aunt and by the end of the trip we were on the phone with our husbands talking about investing in real estate here. I can genuinely see myself raising kids here.

Emily & Mark C., 36 & 32
Investing in Albania

I saw people on TikTok saying they were glad they spent the $3K before making the move. I didn’t know what to expect, but I left certain. This tour showed me exactly why they were right.
I highly recommend this experience — because it doesn’t just show you places, it shows you what your actual life could feel like abroad. Even if you go on a different tour later, make sure it’s one that goes beyond real estate and neighborhoods.
