I spent 18 months watching YouTube videos and reading expat blogs. In 10 days in Albania, I learned more about what moving abroad actually feels like than all of that combined. I booked my flight to Portugal 2 months later.

Sarah M., 52
moved to Porto, Portugal

Everything Hanna says on her lives about Albania is exactly how it is in real life. Absolutely incredible. I came with my aunt and by the end of the trip we were on the phone with our husbands talking about investing in real estate here. I can genuinely see myself raising kids here.

Emily & Mark C., 36 & 32
investing in Albania

This was the perfect week — a mix of fun activities and real introduction to local life abroad. I’ve traveled before, but I still learned so much. The group was amazing, and it gave me the confidence to actually make the move.

Joanna D., 56
moved to Pescara, Italy

I saw people on TikTok saying they were glad they spent the $3K before making the move. I didn’t know what to expect, but I left certain. This tour showed me exactly why they were right.
I highly recommend this experience — because it doesn’t just show you places, it shows you what your actual life could feel like abroad. Even if you go on a different tour later, make sure it’s one that goes beyond real estate and neighborhoods.

What to Expect

Real life immersion
We spend time in neighborhoods where locals actually live, so you see how daily life really works — groceries, pharmacies, transportation, errands, and the little frustrations that come with living somewhere new.

Practical systems
You’ll step into real-life situations that come with living abroad — navigating bureaucracy, banks, contracts and rentals, setting up utilities, understanding healthcare basics, and everyday systems like shopping and appointments, with support from hosts and local experts

Honest conversations
We talk openly about the parts most people don’t post online — loneliness, bureaucracy, language barriers, cultural differences, and what happens when paradise feels imperfect.

Community + clarity
You’ll do it with a small group of other Americans who are exploring different ways of living and spending time abroad, and by the end you’ll understand what version of that lifestyle actually feels right for you.

Itinerary
TIRANA - VLORË - ORIKUM - BERAT - TIRANA
May 24 - 30 | May 24 - June 3
Day 1 – Sunday: The Soft Landing
Arrivals: Private airport transfers to your boutique accommodation.
Evening: An optional neighborhood walk. This is a low-pressure chance to get your bearings, stretch your legs after the flight, and begin feeling the local energy of the neighborhood with the group.
Day 2 – Monday: Navigating the Rhythm of a New City
Morning: The "Basics of Life Abroad" Walk. We spend the morning decoding how a city actually functions. We’ll learn the layout of the streets, where the locals go, and how to master public transportation abroad. This isn't just about Tirana; it's about gaining the confidence to navigate any foreign transit system with ease.
Afternoon: Discussion on Immigrating to Albania & Beyond. An expert-led session on the practicalities of international relocation. We’ll cover the universal steps of moving to Albania and other countries, focusing on the legal and lifestyle shifts required to build a life abroad.
6:30 PM: Official Welcome Dinner at Tiku & Mato. We officially kick off the journey in Grand Park. Enjoy a serene setting with a mountain view as you connect with a group of like-minded people who are on this path with you.
Day 3 – Tuesday: Real Estate & Life Logistics
The Market Audit (Real Estate Logistics): We tour actual rental properties to teach you how to look past the furniture. You’ll learn the universal logistics of foreign real estate: how to vet a landlord, understanding "all-inclusive" vs. base rent, the reality of security deposits abroad, and what to look for in a local lease to protect yourself. We’ll show you how to assess a neighborhood’s infrastructure so you know if a "great deal" is actually a livable location.
Afternoon: Vital Knowledge—Healthcare & Utilities: A dedicated session on the "must-knows" of living abroad.
Healthcare: We’ll discuss how healthcare systems function, navigating private vs. public insurance, and how t
o find specialists in a new country.
Utilities & Logistics: We’ll demystify the "boring" but vital parts of life—how to set up and pay for electricity, water, and trash services in a place where the systems (and the bills) look completely different. You’ll learn the workflow for managing a household abroad so you aren't caught off guard by local requirements.
Evening: Traditional Albanian Night Show: A night of folk dance, music, and a traditional feast. After a day of heavy logistics, this is where you experience the warmth of the culture you’re planning to join.
Day 4 – Wednesday: Journey to the Coast (Vlorë)
Morning Journey: Depart Tirana for the scenic drive to the Albanian Riviera.
Settling In: Check in to your seaside accommodations and get acquainted with the Mediterranean breeze.
Afternoon in Old Town: We’ll explore the highlights of Vlorë, including a lunch in the historic Old Town. This is where you see the blend of Ottoman history and modern revitalization.
Evening: An open evening to settle into the coastal rhythm… or you can join the locals for the traditional evening sunset stroll along the palm-lined Lungomare promenade. This is the perfect time to observe the social fabric of coastal life and see if this pace fits your vision of living abroad.
Day 5 – Thursday: The Orikum Day Trip (Village Life)
A Full Day Exploration: A dedicated day trip to the coastal village of Orikum.
The Lesson in Contrast: This is your chance to compare the three main lifestyle options: Big City (Tirana), Small Town (Vlorë), and Village Life (Orikum).
The Blueprint Step: We’ll look at the differences in infrastructure, community feel, and "quietness." You'll learn how to evaluate if a smaller community has enough resources to sustain your lifestyle or if you require the amenities of a larger hub.
Evening: Time to explore independently or enjoy the Riviera at your own pace.
Day 6 – Friday: Coastal Bliss & Culinary Tradition
Morning: Speedboat Adventure: Free time to relax, explore independently, or enjoy the experience with your newfound friends, or join the optional boat ride to explore the Karaburun Peninsula and hidden caves—a reminder of the natural beauty that comes with coastal living.
Included for Premium guests; available as an optional add-on for Comfort guests.
Evening: Traditional Culinary Class. Learn to make byrek by hand at a location with stunning sunset views of the sea. This hands-on experience is the perfect way to connect with local traditions.
Note: This is the final night for 7-Day Adventurers.
Day 7 – Saturday: The Transition
For 7-Day Adventurers (Departure): Your journey comes full circle as you return to Tirana for your flight home. We’ll arrange your airport shuttle transportation for a smooth return to Tirana International Airport. The shuttles run several times throughout the day, giving you the flexibility to choose a departure time that fits your flight schedule. You’ll head to the airport with a clear plan and the confidence of someone who knows how to navigate the country like a local.
For 10-Day Explorers (The Journey Continues): While others head home, your immersion deepens. We journey to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Berat, known as the "City of a Thousand Windows."
The Check-In: Settle into our boutique accommodations — always hand-selected for their character and comfort.
Free afternoon and evening: Enjoy time to relax, explore independently, spend time with newfound friends, or join the group as we head up to explore the grounds of Berat Castle, a massive fortress that still functions as a living neighborhood. Walking these ancient cobblestones offers a rare glimpse into how history, culture, and modern daily life coexist.

Morning start for a half-day excursion to waterfalls and winery. First stop, Bogovë Waterfall. A journey into the lush landscapes surrounding Berat to experience the breathtaking natural beauty of the region.

Whether you want to revisit a specific neighborhood or sit down with the host to troubleshoot your personal move abroad, we are here to help you finalize your personal blueprint.
